Real Life Barbie

this lady looks like a real barbie.. i find her very pretty and creepy at the same time. she looks like one of those pretty murderers hahaha.. or an alien in a pretty human body.. or maybe not hahaha im just jealous :) but she does look like a real barbie huh?

Famous Cousin

My cousin Obie is in a band called Christafari.. and we cousins didnt know he's already somewhat famous until our uncle sent us the link on the video called "the obie factor".. haha after we watched it, we laughed so hard and emailed him right away... apparently he was too embarrassed to show it to family and had no idea his dad already broadcast it to the clan.. this video was taken when they were in Argentina. Chistafari means "soldiers for Christ" and its a Christian reggae band. You may think these people are just like any ordinary Bob "weed" Marley but they're really not because their music only focuses on God and his goodness. the video below is just too funny for me but you only see the obie factor at the end of the video..

this picture was taken last year, the first time we watched Christafari in L.a.. luckily we had the chance to see them play because they dont stay in one place for a long time. they usually travel around for concerts.. usually brazil. . thats me, marc (my brother), kim (sister) obie and janica (cousins)

if you're interested in Christian reggae songs, check out their website at Christafari.com or you could just type christafari on google and you'll probably find their music there. below is a pic of me with obie at our old valle3 kitchen.. this was after watching my brother's gig at saguijo back when he wasnt famous yet haha ngayon di na sya ma reach :)

Soms Noodle House

before i was able to eat at soms, ive heard a lot of good feed backs about it already.. saying that the food is good considering the price. so when i finally had the chance to eat there, i can say it was hmm ok? i wasnt exactly enthralled. maybe because i was expecting a lot based on the raves of people about it but i personally like their green curry chicken because its a little sweet..and i like sweet on my food :) its not exaggerated spicy  like the green curry at silk that i just had to stop eating because i felt like sipon is coming out of my nose already haha.. soms pad thai however is a bit sour.. theres no need of putting calamansi anymore. pad thai is so easy to make i don't know what they put to make it tooo sour.. but over all, it wasnt a bad experience.. we'd still eat there :) for the curry and spring rolls :)

Sherlock's day out

this is what he does when he's tired.. he'll just lay down and die right in front of you :) soo cute :) this little baby never fails to amuse random strollers in highstreet and when they would start touching him, i'd say "be careful.. he bites" then they'd back off hahaha.. when ivan walks him around, he makes sure that his leash is short so he could control him easily and not chew other peoples ankles :)

Super cheap Sugar decorators

i got excited when i saw these cheap gum paste and royal icing sugar decorations for cup cakes and cakes.. although im not a pastry chef or a cake designer, i wanted to buy it ALL right away.. not  for me but for my sisters.. im sure they'd go gaga over these. they sell it for 40 pesos (less than a dollar) per pack. except for the big ones like the huge flowers.. i think they sell it for 100 each ($2) but everything else is 40 :) not bad huh? i found them at Eastwood bazaar near Starbucks. you can find more decorations from their multiply site. www.sugardekor.multiply.com

Our K9 friend

last week we had the chance to play with raki at tiendesitas,. a level 5 trained giant Belgian Malinois. he's the smartest, sweetest and fiercest dog ive ever met in my life. he even has his own website because his owner Gio Marcelo, whos also an actor, has a k9 training facility here in the Philippines. Gio studied K-9 Training in a prestigious academy in North Hollywood, California. After his certification, he worked as a trainer in the same institute. :) both Gio and Raki has been on several teleseryes in Abs-cbn and GMA.

you have to meet him in real life because its hard to describe how awesome this Dog is.. but i give all the props to Gio who's been really patient with Raki for the past  years. the dog really reflects the owner and Gio is probably the best Dog whisperer in town hehe our version of Cesar Millan :)in his website, raki is described as "a highly trained protection dog, trained by world-class professionals. After acquiring Raki, Gio Marcelo bonded with him for more than a year and intensively conditioned him further for behaving correctly in various real situations – ie. in a crowd, among children and on the streets. Hence, Raki is now a fully-trained reality, off-leash, personal protection dog with excellent agility who can perform amazing tricks. He has perfect temperament and is impervious to all distractions"..... Hows that for a k9?

Movie: Saw "the final chapter"

today after my class we watched Saw "the final chapter".. its not something you'd like to watch in a movie house because the scenes are just so sickening and its right in from of your face.. i felt like the bloods gonna splatter all over me. the scenes just grossed me out. even ivan covered half of his face with his jacket while watching.. :). Im a Saw kid and i grew up watching movies of twisted pictures. and  i know for a fact that evil Always always prevails in this movie.. haha just like all the final destination movies,  Saw is also very predictable. although they have some sort of suspense ending, its still the same customary saw i grew up watching :)

Barack obama look a like :)

Rondo the husky

Our rondodoy when he was still a baby. he's in continuous medication right now because of his super sensitive skin and he only eats dog food that are made with lamb. everything else is a no no. i buy Lamb pro and vitality because its for dogs that have skin problems.. they say Siberian Huskies are really prone to skin irritation/inflammation but i get really frustrated when i see all his red patches. he's getting better though. :) heres cute baby rondo

To fur or not to fur?

While i was browsing through bryan boy's page (if you don't know him, he's a worldwide famous fashion blogger from the Philippines) i saw these super cute boots he wore while strolling around one lazy afternoon in some country where its appropriate to wear boots.. hehe but im not sure if I'd wear them.. hmm

these are D&G fur boots. as you can see it has different colors of fur because it came from different animals like rabbit, astrakhan, fox, coyote, etc.. and maybe chow chow who knows hehe but seriously, even if i have those, ill think twice of wearing it abroad. i dont wanna bump in to some mad passionate PETA member.

Childhood best buddies

My dream gift for Ivan

even if i win the lottery, ill still think twice if ill buy these watches.. thats why its only a dream gift for doll lips:) but who needs these super expensive watches?.. as long as it ticks and it tocks, thats good enough for me. Ivan on the other hand is a watch person and he'd really save and spend on watches.. but these are just for people who are super big time watch collectors.. oh well, no harm in dreaming :)

the first one is $1million (P43m pesos)  Hublot Black Caviar band Made from an 18-karat white-gold case packed with 322 diamonds. the 2nd one is $1.5million (P64.5m pesos) Vacheron Constantint Tour de l'lle its a watch considered the most complicated watch ever made with two time zones and an astronomical indicator of the night sky. the 3rd is a $860,000 (P36,980,000) Louis Moinet Magistralis inside the Louis Moinet Magistralis rests a piece of a 2,000-year-old lunar meteorite. Outside, the 18-karat gold watch has a movement that displays a minute repeater, perpetual calendar and a push-button chronograph.. haha some people can be curayzeyy...

Vintage addiction

Im liking everything vintage lately specially vintage pin up girls and old hollywood style. Im thinking of designing my room full off vintage movie/advertisement posters and pictures of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. i think its going to look good. Old style but good.. i even like the concept of Cupcakes by Sonja at Serendra because the style of their store is soo vintage. notice their fridge.:) here are some vintage pictures ill put.. of course the original ones are expensive so i guess ill just have to improvise and have it printed.

Funny divorce cakes

check out these funny divorce cakes. haha these are great gifts for friends that are freshly divorced.. in my case, i still dont have married friends but i hope none of us go through a divorce someday.. im against it because when you get married, you did not only marry your partner but you made a promise to God for better for worse till death do you part.. so you should be 100% sure on who to marry. you dont wanna get cold feet after a few years haha.. but these cakes are hilarious..

Lips

Lips as sweet as honey
With just a salty touch
Lips that whisper words
I love to hear so much

Lips that hold me captive
Within my prisoned wish
Lips that draw me near them
Soft enough to kiss

Lips that laugh and smile
Make my spirit soar
Lips that moan and sigh
Make me want them even more

Lips that last touched mine
Kissed but captured not, it's true
Lips of love and kindness
When will they say "I love you"?

the best Lechon baka

the best lechon baka ive ever tasted is Aling Flora's lechon baka.. its the best! and im not even that much of a fan of lechon baka. :) you could eat it without rice. its almost like a filipino version of kobe ang wagyu beef. :) they serve it in a sizzling plate with sweet spicy sauce in it. Its a bit pricy though compared to lechon baboy. 1 baka is for 45thousand pesos.

frustrated dancer..

the last time i joined pep squad competition was in in 6th grade. i had no choice but to join because im going to be left out if im not part of it because all my friends are in it.. but after that i told myself "never again".. mainly because i messed up big time during dancing which is 90% of the competition. i humiliated myself  too much and my mother who was watching was equally as embarrassed as i was because she could hear all the negative comments from the audience... but heres another try after 10 years.. you could tell the dance instructor was already getting frustrated.. teeheee

I want a Molecular bed!

Molecular bed is made of 120 sofa balls with elastic fabric. The Feel Seating System was designed by Animi Causa an Isreali designer. it has a really unusual shape. It is inspired by a molecular structure, as we all know, its the basic form for all objects in the universe. :) If you are a playful person you can use it in many creative ways, because the structure of the feel allows to create multiple forms. how i wish they sell it here!!

daddy and brother

hm do they look alike? heres a picture of my dad's old green card and my brother's recent picture. im still trying to figure out if he's adopted :) they probably decided to adopt a baby boy since all of the kids are girls.. what do you think? some say they have a lot in common.. but i dont know. i cant see it..

family of food maniacs part 2

all made by my sister christina :)

the first picture are brookies. my nephew's favorite.. a little more time in the oven and it'll all be cooked. its called brookies because its brownies with chewy cookies on top. and rest are cupcakes all made by my ate  for nephew's 1st bday..and  the last are pink choco vanilla cake pops :).. Below are cakes made by my ate donna (dida). she's not a pastry chef but because she's very artistic and loves baking.. she learned how to do cakes on her own. with ingredients and materials, i guess nothing is impossible.

family of food maniacs part 1

My de guzman family loovveess to eat.. and because they love food, they also enjoy cooking. i cant think of any member of our family who's not into eating nor cooking. its crazy ! i guess im the only one who's not as passionate as they are.. although im also into food and i also like to learn, i still dont consider myself as  a food maniac. my cousins are passionate chefs and my sisters are wonderful cooks.. my dad founded "Pinausukan" restaurant w/c has long been gone but you could still see and feel its legacy moving on to one member of the family to another. here are some pictures of my cousin gino's recipe that he  took himself and had to cook for 360 people so 360x8?

1) braised veal lasagna, truffled jus 2) barramundi, cauliflower, potato-saffron veloute 3) duck rillette, port jelly, asparagus salad 4) scallops, celeriac puree, pickled apple.

5) olive oil poached salmon, panzanella, smoked tomato creme fraiche 6) squid, avocado mousse, semi dried tomato, rocket mayo 7) tuna tataki, asparagus, lime-courgette vinaigrette 8) lamb back strap, pea puree, herb-mustard gnocchi

Double Trouble?

last friday's birthday party was a blast but for ate lot and ate clarence  (my sister's friends) there was a slight dilemma because they came to the party both wearing the exact same outfit as the other. .but they didnt take it too seriously unlike how it is on the red carpet.. and besides, they're friends.. but who wore it best?:)
i didnt ask anymore where they got their outfit  i just had to take a picture with this two lovely momma's :) whatever they wear, they both still look pretty hot

proud to be pinoy!

So proud to be pinoy!! im inlove with you already manny!! is it just me or pumopogi ka na tlaga? kamuka mo na kse si Jake Cuenca

Recipe for a Fab Party!

My sister just had a fabulous 40th bday party at blue leaf last friday with over 250 guests. and it wouldnt be as fabulous if it weren't for K. cunanan catering!  if you want to pull of a great party, K. is the best person to call. because she just gives you anything you want from food to table design and the aura of the place I personally had the chance to visit her at her own home where she works most of the time for clients that  visit for food tasting. and can i tell you the food was indeed delectable. my checklist for my wedding is already 1 down. and for the cake? although we didnt get the chance to order from her ahead of time, i know for a fact that Joy San Gabriel is really good with cakes.. i guess im 2 down already haha..great party, sa uulitin :)

I want a new tattoo!!

Ive been dying to get a new tattoo and i wanna put it somewhere where i wont regret it. i have 3 tattoos and had my first one was when i was 14.. so you could just imagine how dumb the design is. it doesn't even have a meaning its just for the sake of having one. I'd like to have it on the side of my body where my arm rests.. just like where megan Fox put hers..

In having a tattoo, black is the best ink to use because colored tattoos fade and you have to retouch it. mine even faded and the one on my nape is already messed up. On my nape it says IXOYE which means Jesus Christ God savior son, and on my back theres an eye which means absolutely nothing. and the BDG initials of my dad and the day he died :)

For my 4th id like it to be 1 Corinthians 13 in full Geek language.. but i guess i wont have the chance to get a new one.. of course Ivan has to approve first, and since he doesnt, i guess i just have to stick to what i have.

Movie: due date

If you like the movie Hang over then i think you'll like "due date" because both movies have the same director and the humor is absurd in a very hilarious way! you'll surely laugh your ass off! but the real reason why we watched it yesterday was because of Robert Downey Jr.. Ivan and i are both big fans of him and he's the reason why we named our Chow Chow "Sherlock" from the movie Sherlock Holmes.

Robert Downey is inappropriately hot for me. he's not too good looking like a Ken doll but his over all appeal and his personality made a distinctive name in hollywood and his Sarcastic humorous deliveries while remaining completely stone faced is his trademark.. i had the biggest crush on him when i was 5 or 6 maybe when i watched the movie "chances are".. very sweet romantic movie.. i hope he makes more movies and not return to his drug addict days.. i hope he's done with that phase in his life already :)

Focaccia (fort strip)

When i crave, i crave so bad that i just have to eat that food the same time i craved it or else ill be grumpy the whole day. lucky me i have an awesome boyfriend who willingly grants my bidding. the Rolled up Pizza  at Focaccia restaurant is something i pine for once in a while. We discovered it when we were walking around Fort Strip and noticed a new restaurant beside Go Nuts Donuts. (theres also one in A-venue). because of our Love for food we decided to try it.. the paper thin pizza rolled up with Arugula and Alfalfa was the best and we left the restaurant with a satisfied tummy :)

Arugula itself can stand on its own because of its nutty sweet flavor. im not really a big fan of leaves but Basil and Arugula are my favorite. I even planted basil at our backyard because i think you could use it on whatever Italian i think? im no Chef. im just an Eater haha and Focaccia Restaurant for me serves great Rolled up pizza, its so addicting!!! their other entrees thou are not so ok :( if you want another version of rolled up pizza, you could also try Dear Darla of Yellow cab.. but its not as good as Focaccia.

Sherlock's failed halloween Costume

Pup Culture celebrated its Halloween party last October 30, 2010.. and of course our baby Sherlock was part of the party along with his other cute little and big friends. there were games and prizes but sadly our Sherlock did not win anything. he's not to blame thou cause he's not done with his school yet.. :( all his other friend dogs are Pup Culture graduates already and they have bigger chances of winning.

another dilemma that we encountered was his Halloween costume. since he's not a small dog anymore, its difficult to find something that will fit him. all cute costumes we saw were just for tiny dogs.. sooo, Ivan thought of the Plants vs Zombies character..the flying zombie : I thought the idea was cute so i agreed. he bought a small tshirt for Sherlock and a red balloon but it didnt work out ok because the tshirt he bought was a bit big. and what added to the failed costume was his pee.. he peed on his costume so we had to take it off. but over all i think all the dogs had a great time at the party.. and sherlock? oh well, He's still cute whatever he wears :)

Movie: You Again

S o our movie for this week is "YOU AGAIN".. its a story about a young woman who realized her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée's true colors. its a hilarious movie! its my kind of humor :)

its a funny movie but bullying in reality is never funny. although i've never experienced Bullying in High School. i think its just sad to bully someone who's not bullyable? if  theres a word.. but bullying doesnt just happen in High School. our whole life we will encounter people that will bully us if we're weak and puny. Bullies smell Fear i guess?

My favorite Salad

Salad is not something i find pleasure in eating.  but men oh men i just loovvee eating Pepper Lunch Salad. Im not kidding, i eat it like its meat.. the taste is just ooberly lip smacking! i love how they perfectly combined all the ingredients. Sarap tlaga for a salad!

although Pepper Lunch is not well known for its salad but for its sizzling plate (where you could cook just about whatever raw) they still managed not to disappoint people with this delightful feast. they even invented a way of mixing salad by putting it in a covered plastic cup where you just have to shake it until its all mixed up. i love it because its affordable but at the same time enjoyable :)
