Pasay city jail and ALS pasay chapter

Last March 12, we had a mini field trip at 2 places in pasay. The first one was pasay city jail and the next was at ALS headquarters? im not sure if thats how they call it. this field trip was about learning more on Alternative Learning system and experiencing how it really works. this program is free and its for those people who are unable to finish school due to different reasons. Some graduates of ALS are kim chiu, Gerard Anderson and Manny Paquiao. We visited pasay city jail because a lot of prisoners there are willing to continue their schooling despite the circumstances. the next place we visited was at a headquarters of Pasay where youth of different ages enrolled themselves in this program in order to finish school for free. after that we visited a short course class for reflexology and luckily had a free massage.

Personally im very impressed with this program and if given the chance, i'd like to teach in jail as a part time job. When we asked the teachers why they chose to teach there, they simply said "its rewarding". And i honestly believe it. In that short time of interviewing the female and even the male inmates, i realized nothing is really too late. they may have done horrible things outside the prison cell but they are willing to change their lifestyle by finishing school so they can have a decent job when they get out.
