Cadaver Art???

for the past few days, ive been really addicted to watching plastination process on youtube. iv actually lost appetite for meat which is a good thing. i think?. i got ssoo into it because we went to a mini museum at fort bayani road where they exhibit real bodies and body parts. PLASTINATION is the technique they do to preserve human bodies. like a modern mummification i guess?! but a lil far from it. The water and fat are replaced by certain plastics, yielding specimens that can be touched, do not smell or decay..

thats Gunther Von Hagens in the middle and he invented the process of plastination. this method is a bit disturbing but has a lot of benefit for medical students. the bodies they use are the ones that signed up to be plastinated when they die because they know their bodies are of no use when they are buried 6 feet under. so instead of rotting and being eaten by worms, they just signed up for it. however, some bodies are the ones not being claimed in the morgue for days.. religious people are against it because its disrespecting the dead..

yes those are real human bodies with real body parts.. and on the right, thats a body cut in half. for me that saw it personally, i kinda got freaked out and i couldnt stop thinking about it even after 3 days. we even saw skin man. a dead man carrying his own skin. the one we saw has a tattoo.. how disturbing is that?

but then again? they say everything on earth has use, even the dead can still serve the living. as for me, ill probably be a vegetarian now.
